Assortment.
Assortment to use to extend your article into multiple plant or store. In non Retail, usually you will extend the article manually one by one. But in Retail, you just run the assortment. In assortment you will need to add list of MC and Store that will be applied. Once you run the assortment, then you can buy or sold the article.
MC and Product Hierarchy,
MC is the lowest grouping of your article. When you creating MC you need to add Product Hierarchy or Merchandise Category Hierarchy (MCH). Then your MC will be assign in Product Hierachy. Mainly this will help for you to doing transaction in Retail, like get the report using of one of MC, create promotion by using MCH, etc.
