hi Experts,
We have a scenario of 2 entities having same Fund Area and same controlling area. As we want to have different fund area for both entities . Would the inter-fund allocation work with CO-FI reconciliation by having single controlling area and different FM area ?

Hi,
If you have two company codes assigned to one Controlling area, they have to be equally assigned to one FM area.

Thanks Eli
The below link suggest that we can have 2 FM areas under one controlling area. Need to Split FM area to remove the dependency on Commitment hierarchy and Fund center hierarchy so that entities can have thier own set up

If we create 2 controlling areas then will not be able to cost allocation across these 2 entities ? We want to split the dependency on single COA and Commitment hierarchy . How can we achieve that with inter company code, inter fund cost allocation and the FI reconciliation.

I don't see how the link mentioned by you suggests that... If you work with FM elements shared by CO and FM, e.g. fund, functional area, etc., it cannot be done. So, unless you use only fund centre and commitment item, which is quite rare, you can't have two FM areas for company codes under one CO area.
