I've posted this in ABAP General
But I think a real deep "techno-functional" might know the answer, rather than an ABAP-per.
But If I cross-post it in an MRP-related functional form, I'll get my hand slapped by Julius or someone else.
So would a moderator kindly cross-post it for me?
I really need the answer to this question ...
Thanks for whatever someone is willing to do here.
Best

Hello David,
I've been asking for years to give us the possibility to mirror cross-component or skill threads to related forums and would solve exactly your problem here, but it has fallen on deaf ears to date because in it's own little way it might reduce the total ponits on the site as there would only be one physical thread ID.
As plan B I can move it to MRP when ABAP General throws in the towel, but would suggest moving it now already and then back to ABAP if the MRP folks have not seen this before.
Plan C would be to cross-post and then report yourself via the Abuse Reports and buy some time that way in a legal debate with the mods about being charged with the same crime once only. While you are there, please also chip in a few words for me about the mirroring feature...
Good luck!
Julius

No, we won't cross post it, but you can post it yourself.
Repeat the question in the new thread.
Ask that answers be posted in the old thread and provide the link.
Respond to this question and provide the link to the new question.
I'll lock the new thread so that no one will be tempted to post there instead.
The rule against cross posting is to protect potential responders so that there aren't multiple groups of people working to solve the same problem without know what the others have done.
An imperfect solution, but all that we have now.

Hi Rob -
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
As you can see from the ABAP Gen thread, I've found out some info for myself, and I may actually be close to the answer.
So I'll hold off from the cross-posting for now, and see if I've solved this one on my own.
If not, I will do what you suggest.
Thanks very much again ...
