When is cross-posting cross-posting?

Yeah... the point is, I'm currently in need of a lot of input concerning facts/issues all partly relevant to WebDynpro ABAP / Floorplan Manager / Travel Management..... and the other point is I know three particular persons, one each in the respective subforums, who might be able to answer my questions -_-

Will the mighty Mods chop my head off in case I make a thread in one of the subforums and make two other threads in the other two subforums LINKING to the first one?

Cheers, Lukas

For ages now I have been asking for the ability to mirror threads to multiple forums, but unfortunately this has a lower priority than redundant points automation...

Workaround: Post the link to the main thread in the other two and I will lock them so that the answers are kept in one thread.

Not exactly rules conform, but it is christmas time...

Cheers,

Julius

I made a thread within the WDA Forums with a link to the main thread in the Travel Management Forums. If you feel the necessity to close the WDA one, you can do so. I would prefer keeping it open because the "locked thread" icon might discourage people from even looking at it

Use status "Closed but unanswered" for this.

That removes the "Reply" button (which is a bit silly, but in this case useful) and effectively locks it. Once solved, you can change the status to "Closed" which will turn it to "green" and answered status.

That's my point. If I set it "Closed but unanswered", most people will initially think "oh jolly, I can't get any shiny badges or points in that thread, so I'll just pretend I never saw it" and won't even open it -_-

Do you really believe that?

Do you want that type of person taking pot-luck shots at answering your tricky question? Like links to the enhancement framework or travel management guide or tutorials on WDA?

Rather offer [beers|; and change the status ...

Julius
