Separate Resource Planning Structure for Multiresource Scheduling MRS

Regarding a MRS implementation I am working on, one business requirement is to establish the conection between SAP HR system and MRS. MRS will be used only with PM. According to SAP documentation, it's possible to create an separate employee structure independently of the HR organizational plan. Supposing this scenario, the resources and planners (all of them already exist in hr org.plan as individuals -P) should be re-created? seems to be redundant and difficult to maintain data (e.g. planned working time, vacation, absences) in both structure.

Hi Rodrigo

These resources don't need to be created again in HR system, they can be re-used without a problem.

MRS will 'search' for the resources of a planning node based on the evaluation path that you assigned in MRS custo (Basic settings --> Define resource planning nodes and evaluation paths), there the field "Evaluation path for resources" will determine which relationship in the HR structure will be used to search for the relevant resources.

For the structure used, this can be your org. structure or you can create a separate structure only for MRS. Both have advantages and disadvantages, although I prefer a separate 'tree' because of the flexibility and that you're not making changes in the org. structure of your company when making changes to resources in planning board.

Hi Jeroen,

I am not using Org Unit to integrate HR with maintenance work center. We are using HR Work Center instead. Can you please help me which evaluation path I should use to transfer work center resources to MRS?

Please don't hijack old posts - its against the rules.

Instead you should create a new post and refer to any useful information.

Thanks a lot Jeroen for help us in clarify the scenario. We evaluated the benefits of each option and chose to use a separate structure. Best regards.

Hi Rodrigo

Using 'OOAW', you can see the actual evalution paths that are used for your chosen eval path. If you set up your structure as it is defined in the path, the resources will pop up in the planning board.

If you use 1 structure, only 1 organizational assignment is required.

If you use 2 separate structures, it might be better to define a new evaluation path where the Person is directly assigned to the Organizational unit (where this org unit is the planning node). For this structure, no organizational assignments is required as it is merely used for MRS.

Thank you very much for the reply.

Evaluation path for resources (assigned in MRS custo) is set to MRS_O-P Resources for Organizational Unit.

Now we're trying to find out how to link each resource in two positions (one from hr struc and the another one from mrs struc), as well as in two org assignment (info type 0001) at the same time.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

best regards.
