Only representative Scenario (OR) - Substance Volume Tracking

Dear Experts,

I am looking for some help to understand some concept of SVT functionality. For example,

OR scenario in Substance Volume Tracking.

It is slightly complex to grasp clear meaning of it’s use while referring the documentation and implement the solution in SAP.

Basic idea is that, we use OR in a condition when the exporter outside EU has responsibility for registration and for that he appoints OR in EU to carry out tracking and registration. Thus the OR takes responsibility of volume monitoring on the behalf of the exporter.

Here is where I am not sure how does that applies to me in the following scenario

1. If I am a receiving plant (LEGAL Entity) in EU- In what conditions I need to map OR here.

2. If I am an exporter from EU- Material is going out of EU, do we need OR (i assume not)?

3. Same, If I am Exporter from US to EU customer - Do I need to have OR function and for REACH ?

Data Separation FM’s

It is also not clear which FM should should be used in Data Separation field for regulatory list REACH for Export scenario. I checked the documentation of this FM,s but there are several FM’s with different explanations but for the same export scenario. For example; for the Export scenario , it says 'Import into' in some FM's and 'Export to' in some FM's creates confusion.

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_BY_VA: Determine Whether an Import to the Validity Area Exists

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_TO_EU: Determine Whether an Import to EU Exists

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_BY_VA_EXP: Determine Whether an Export from Validity Area Exists

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_EU: Determine Whether an Export from EU Exists

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_OR: Export to Validity Area and Assigned Only Representative Role

CBRC_SO_DATA_SEP_US: Determine Whether an Export from US

Thanks In advance

Hello Ashish

i will try to help regarding "business need"

You have asked these questions...

I try to answer step by step.

1.) I would assume that we talk about the SAP MM process. Here you need to think about... "who is the receiver" of the material. By position in purchase order you can define a "delivery address". This delivery address can represent "your" company code or "something different".

For REACH: somebody MUST act as the imporer. So if the delivery address is not "you" but something different... this "receiver" could nominare an "OR"

2.) If the material movement is from EU to out of EU: no OR needed. REACH focuses ONLY on the "import" part (and not "Export" part)

3.) Here you MUST think about: who is the "importer"... The "US" sender can not be an "importer". The importer MUST sit in REACH EU; either this is your company or somebody different.. Here you need the "OR"

For the FMs. SAP has not done a good job here. The "docu" is bad. Because of "BREXIT" you must check now: which FM is the "right" (just check which if them uses SAP table CCRCT_OR)

But as REACH is now inforce since 2008... to start the OR disucssion might be quite late now

C.B.

Thanks for the comments christoph, it helps me to clear some doubts. However, the FM part still needs to be checked in terms of the right choice suitable with the requirement.
