Is there a way to have the In-build translation feature during SEN SCORM packages playback?

When launching SEN Content via published URL the translation feature is available via icon in the trainer bar.

If I export the same content as a SCORM package, the translation feature is not available during playback.

Do you know how to activate the inbuilt translation feature during SCORM Playback so that the "translate icon" will be visible in the trainer bar?

I don't believe so, no. Access to the dynamic translation relies on permissions in Manager, and those aren't available when consuming content from anywhere outside of Manager.

Hi @Anna

@DirkManuel is right. If you export the entire package in the SCORM format, the Machine Translation will not work, as it's provided through the SAP Enable Now Manager.

However, there is one option (undocumented, of course; otherwise, it wouldn't be interesting) to make it work. We'll use the same trick SAP Enable Now utilizes to export content directly to SAP SuccessFactors LMS, but it should work with any LMS 🚀  .

So, export the course as a SCORM package. Then extract from the SCORM .zip file a single file called imsmanifest.xml

Open it with Notepad or Notepad++ and replace all occurrences of "index.html?" with the full published path to the content in your SAP Enable Now system.

Example: Before/After

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter

Then, archive the modified imsmanifest.xml into a separate .zip archive.

Upload this .zip archive as a SCORM package to your LMS.

The LMS should accept it. So, the course seems to be "published" in your LMS; however, the content will be played from your SAP Enable Now system, and the Machine Translation function will work. Also, you can keep updating your course in SAP Enable Now without re-publishing it to LMS.

See, I could run it in the SCORM Cloud, and the Machine Translation works. 😍

However, it has a limitation: the content tracking won't work. 😫 This limitation also applies to the "direct SCORM export to SAP SuccessFactors."
