SAP Financial Consolidation Excel add in time out. How can I fix?

When I use the Excel add in to pull data from SAP Financial Consolidation, if I don't use the Excel workbooks for a while but leave them open. And then I come back to them and try to run the add in, I often keep getting an error message keep popping up which is very annoying in general, plus it won't let me rerun the add in. It seems some kind of timeout.

The only solution I have is I close all my Excels and then open them up again and connect. But this is not ideal because I have to close everything.

Is there a way to fix it please?

The error message normally starts like: <html> <Head> <title> </title>...

Hi,

Can you confirm if you are using the Excel links or the Web Excel links ?

Hi A S,

I'm not sure why Adelaide has asked you that, but the easiest way to distinguish between FC Excel Link and FC Excel Link Web is to check Connect menu (Add-in ribbon of Excel > Financial Consolidation > Connect...). If you get an URL field - it's FC Excel Link Web, if you get options for Data source input - it's FC Excel Link (not Web).

Thanks Adelaide. I have an url so it is FC Excel Link Web.

Does that help you to answer my original question please?
