SAP CPQ Product Nesting with VC product

Hi All,

His anybody know if it's possible to do product nesting in CPQ when we are connected with CPS (Variant config)?

For now if I'm using a container on my CPQ product and I try to add a configurable product that is linked with CPS, the CPS call isn't done when I enter the configurator from the container...

We have verified via one customer PoC and get the conclusion that, currently (release 2008) CPQ only supports top-down configuration. It's still not able to support bottom-up sales solution configuration out-of-the-box.

Technically, if the nested product model has been defined in backend VC/AVC, there is no problem to configure the product with hierarchical structure in CPQ.

But if we try to combine CPQ local configurable product with replicated configurable products, system will not work as expected. It may end up with error message in configurator, for example, "Failed to create a VC configuration". Or the dependency from VC/AVC is simply ignored. Even if the configurable product could be added to quote, the quote may not be opened anymore with exception raised.
