Missing environment access after migration to BPC 10 NW

Former Member

Hi,

I successfully migrated from 7.5 to 10, followed the procedure from SAP migration note and blog

http://scn.sap.com/community/epm/businessobjects-planning-and-consolidations-for-netweaver/blog/2012....

Had couple of issues with backup zip file size, resolved them by deleting logs. Had to uncheck 'master data' when restoring.

I used the mapping file which included the header, the contents are

AD User ID for 7.5  NW User for 10.0

DOMAIN\USERA     USERB

USERA exists in BPC 7.5 and USERB exists in BPC10. But i cannot see the new environment when i logon using the web/admin. Not sure if unchecking 'master data' causes this?

Thanks for looking

Hi Somar

When you migrate the objects, they go successfully as you probably noticed on SLG1. If you go check table (in se16) - UJT_TRANS_OBJECT you'll find all of your objects in the 'D' (Delivered) mode. As suggested by Guatavo, run the UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT program and it would convert these to 'A' (Active).

Srikanth,

The log is already very old (don't know whether you got the full migration working or not), but I was wondering whether you could help me with a small question.

When you want to migrate the BPC 75 AD users to BPC 10 NW users, do you need to create these BW users first yourself (manually) or does the tool  create the users as well as assiging the roles and profiles to them ?

Thanks

Hello SOMAR,

Please, you just run the Program UJS_ACTIVE_CONTENT and run program UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE

Good lucky!!

Thanks all for your help.

I do not have SAP_ALL, should this be the cause? When restoring from UJBR i get message 'SAP_ALL' is recommended.

Hi Somar,

It looks like user mapping lost during migration.

Not sure if the following SAP Note 1620027 - Upgrade of BPC environments from 7.5 NW to 10.0 NW helps you.

Just a question, do you see environmentshell in BI system in RSA1?

You can also assign new task profile to the user and check if it helps.

Ashwin.

Ashwin,

I can see the environmentshell in RSA1. Can i try migrating again with only 'Security and file path' ? or first do i need to delete/clean the environmentshell ?

Hi Somar,

I would say first check if the user is available in UJE_USER table in BI system and roles and profiles for this user.

You can make the necessary changes for user and see if it works or not.

I am not usre if migrating environment again with security option will lead to success or not, though migration guide says you can run migration several times on single environment.

Ashwin.

Hi Ashwin,

USERB exist for the migrated environment in the UJB_USER. USERB has access to other environments (created in BPC 10-not migrated), so do not think there is a BI profile/role issue.

Thanks.

Somar,

I think you can run again migration in that case to check if it works or not.

OR ELSE

you can have opinion from others on this issue or raise a ticket to SAP.

Ashwin.
