Hello guys!
Can anyone help me trying to figure how to use LENGTH () in BFC?
Example: Cell B3 has a XDESC with up to 30 characters. I need to know exactly how many characters contains in Cell B3 and use this information in a IF.
=IF ( LENGTH (VALUE(COL)!XDESC1 > 20 ; VALUE1 ; VALUE 2)).
Is it possible?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Thiago.
Hello Thiago,
IF(;;) function can't be used with Text fields currently. You can vote for an improvement request for this functionality: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/132657/?section=sectionDetails
As for Length() function FC user guide implicitly states that it's only authorized in functions for text editing: https://help.sap.com/viewer/b9d07a1932014658b7ac8268c5c2b41d/10.1.7/en-US/fa4f8ee56faf1014878bae8cb0...
Maybe somebody have thought of a workaround for your use case, but it doesn't seem to have a standard straight-forward solution.
