FC 10.1 : Failed to create module 'PackageView'

Hi Experts,

We recently upgraded from FC 10.1 SP09 PL03 to PL08 and also moved to AWS data center. However post migration, we're unable to login to the Windows client with the error message Failed to create module 'PackageView'

We did not face this issue during the pre-cutover testing. I checked the SAP Knowledge Base but did not find any note that specifically addresses this error message. Any ideas what might be causing this error and what further checks can be performed?

Hello phadke_manas,

Installation errors aren't so widespread that one can give a quick answer without investigation into the system. Such cases are handled by SAP Support via an incident.

So if you wish to resolve the issue quickly, you need to create an SAP Support incident, preferably including the following information:

  • Are your application server and client of the exactly same version?
  • Are you getting the same error on server side?
  • Are you getting this with all your data sources?
  • Does it happen for all users/machines?
  • Have you installed DHTML as an administrator?

Thanks Olga, seems this issue was being caused due to 1 of the 3 ctcontrollers failing. The Basis team did raise a High priority incident with SAP for this issue and it was resolved after their suggested steps were implemented.

Hello,

This issue may occur for different reasons.

1. If the issue cannot be reproduced directly on your application server, please check your FC versions between the servers and the clients, they must be kept as the same version.

2. If it's a new installation on your client, please make sure that you executed the setup file by clicking 'Run as Administrator'

Hello phadke_manas,

Thanks also to confirm if you reproduce the issue with all your users or just some specific ones. Does it occur with an Administrator one for example ? Depending on the result, it can be linked to the user profile.
