VAT Return

Hi all,

We have an issue with the standard SAP VAT return program (RFUMSV00).

When we launch the RFUMSV00 batch, we always have the error "Balancing field profit center in line item 001 not filled" (GLT2201).

So we have to fill the profit center manually every time.

I didn't notice any issue with the program RFUMSV25 "Deferred Tax Transfer" as the document splitting has been done correctly.

I also checked the parameters for document splitting in SPRO.

In SAP standards, profit centers are not taken from the original documents in the VAT return program?

In SAP standards, does the program always sum by GL account ? Can we add other criteria of agregation like profit center?

Hoping you could assit.

Thanks in advance.

Hi amgharsap93,

First of all, RFUMSV25 & RFUMSV00 are two completely different programs. The first one is used in the deferred VAT process: where you the automatic reposting from deferred to a target VAT GL accounts. In this case, the logic to determine profit centers (for document splitting purposes) will be linked as a rule to your deferred / target GL accounts - either profit centers are inherited from source documents (e.g. from logistics), via default profit center assignments or via substitutions. Anyway, the range of GL accounts is known. You can derive them from the FTXP and check out how profit centers are derived for these GL accounts.

The second program is mostly a report. When you run in a posting mode, you attempt to re-post all amounts to a tax payable GL account, which is defined in OB89. Please check if there is any logic to derive profit center for the GL account defined in this transaction. Most probably, there is no default profit center and the program does not inherit it automatically from the source GL accounts.

You can also check my two posts on these topics, maybe there will be any useful information for you.

Hi b.petrushchak ,

Thank you for your clear answer. I mentionned the programs RFUMSV25 & RFUMSV00 cause we used it subsenquently every months . I was suprised that profit centers are inherited from source documents for the first program but not for the second one.

Hi Mehdi,

I do not know with 100% certainty that the program RFUMSV25 inherits the profit center from the source document. Therefore, I mentioned that it is "as a rule". But I do not know what exactly happens under the hood. Anyway, the idea is that another program i.e. RFUMSV00 uses a dedicated GL account for a posting and you need to check the profit center determination logic for this GL account. That's the first thing to check in this regard.

Bohdan
