Upgrades in case of STE(Extended addition)

hi all ,  I have basic question wrt Extended addition  1. In case of Extended addition - Upgrades are done by SAP as they do for Essentials ?  2. And if Upgrade is taken care by SAP , this could be either on Customer Private cloud or Hyperscaler managed private cloud ? As in SAP will support upgrade in both scenarios ?    Regards  Taranam

Hi Taranam,

Please find answers as below:

1. In case of Extended edition upgrades are a joint responsibility between SAP and Customer (optionally assisted by Partners). The backend technical activities are performed by SAP like OS upgrade, HAN upgrade, SUM tool. Activities like releasing transports, SPDD, SPAU , Application level Testing is performed by the Customer (optionally assisted by Partners). Some of these activities may be supported by Cloud Application Services depending on the agreement.

2. The Extended edition of S/4HANA could be hosted on HEC or Hyperscalers. Yes SAP will support upgrade on both the scenarios as stated in the agreement..
