Hi,
The hashtag is a special character in web applications / services, or anything involving urls really. You will have to escape them and certain other characters.
You may find that item codes with such characters can also cause problems in web shops. If you are generating the item codes in question yourself, you should avoid using the characters mentioned in the article above. The hashtag is a character that was used in item codes mainly to denote the word 'number', before internet stores became comonplace. it is better to use hyphens, underscores, or descriptive abbreviations, like 'nr' instead.
Regards,
Johan
