SEARCH MATERIAL BASED ON PO TEXT OR BASIC DATA TEXT IN SAP PUBLIC CLOUD

I have a requirement of making the data in "PO Text" or "BASIC DATA TEXT" available for search in PR/PO.

Generally, in MM03/PR/PO Materials are searched based on the "Short Description" and there are many other parameters too. But search using the entry in "PO Text" is not available. In engineering firm maximum material have 100-150 character technical specification ... and we need to search material always by technical details... in 40 character search it is not possible .. kindly suggest us how to search material based on PO TEXT or BASIC DATA TEXT (which is available in mm01 basic data1 tab /PO Text Tab) in PR/PO .

How are you? I have excluded the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud" and included the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Sourcing and Procurement" for this question, as Purchase Orders are Objects related to Sourcing and Procurement Line of Business.

You can open a request within the Customer Influence Portal about this.

Meanwhile, what I can suggest is to maintain the material as needed, then search for the word(s) or technical detail needed within the search bar, select Product (or All, but will take more time), with this you´ll get the Material Number so you can proceed with your PR/PO process.

There is a concept called "Enhanced Material Search option" in SAP which we can add different criteria for searching material.
