Schedule Line BOM Explosion for Subcontracting Materials

Hello Experts,

I am new to SAP PP/MM side.

We had an issue in our client server.

Material A is a header Part for which a Subcontracting Schedule Agreement was created and Material B is the component part with Backflush 1 in Material master.

Schedule lines were generated after MRP run.

MRP Run was done for Header Part with the

1 3 1 2 2.

However, the components were exploded only for the Schedule Lines which were fixed and for the other lines BOM was not present.

However if the same MRP run was done with 1 3 1 3 2, BOM explosion happens for all the Schedule Lines.

Post above maintenance, we removed all the Schedule Lines from ME38, and re-ran MRP with 1 3 1 2 2 parameters and then this worked and BOM explosion was done for all lines.

Why does this happen when Planning mode is used as 2 and lines get fixed?

Also after removing schedule lines this worked as expected.

Appreciate any kind of help and expertise in this domain.

Thanks
