SAP B1 - Year end BC JNL reversed in the wrong period

Hi there,

We encountered an issue with a BC JNL reversed in the wrong period. In December 2022, a JNL for Corp Tax was posted and then the Year End was run. As usual, SAP posted a BC JNL on December 31, 2022, to zero out the Corp Tax account and transfer the balance to RE.

A user mistakenly reversed that last JNL, but instead of reversing it in December 2022, they reversed it in January 2023. Since it is a BC JNL, I cannot amend the reversal by adding a duplicate JNL (if attempted, it is posted as a normal JNL). Consequently, when running the PL & TB, the amounts do not match as the BC journals are not taken into account. I tried posting a dummy JNL in January for that amount, but it was unsuccessful.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

 Thanks

Hi,

May be on the COPY of the database, you can check by putting the journal entry with reverse value in Dec 2022.(i.e. whichever accounts were there in the original entry canceled, enter with opposite values in the debit and credit column). Then run the PEC again for year 2022. Once the entry for movement is recorded, cancel the same again in Jan 2023 so that the values of debits and credits are matched.

Once, this is done, check if the balances in accounts on Jan 2023 for the accounts are properly impacted.

Afterwards, you can create the JE with similar to original JE of dec 2022 and then do the PEC closing again.

You have to test and check the impact.
