Result recording is not updating/Overwriting the batch characteristics value

Business is not able to update the potency, which is referenced to a batch characteristics, upon recurring inspection of batch. This is hampering business operation as this has dependency on calculation of potency and proportional quantity of that material.

Issue details can be referenced as below,

We have a characteristics called "POTENCY" , which is assigned to a MIC - MIC-1. This is part of the inspection plan.

Upon result recording for the inspection lot of inspection lot origin "01", it's getting reflected in batch characteristics value properly. 

But when this batch goes for recurring inspection, (inspection lot origin "09"), upon result recording, when that MIC value is getting changed, it's not getting reflected in batch characteristics. The value is not getting overwritten with the current one (recurring inspection result).

Any advise?

Hi,

For the recuring inspection lot , have you done the usage decision and stock posting is completed (is the system status SPCO is active for the lot ?) ? If not this could be the reason for not overriding the characteristic value.

Also which option are you using for goods movement in QA07?

Hi Arjuna,

Yes system status SPCO is active. 

In QA07, business is using "To Insp. Stock at Lot Creation" option.

All the steps mentioned in the link, are already maintained.

Hi, One possibility is that the inspection completion is forced. Check if the inspection lot has the system status, CLAS -complete classification. And in the batch values for the lot (QA12ExtrasBatchesBatch values), check if the ‘value from inspection’ is updated and the status is =5. If above is not the case, does the UD log (QA03, Usage decision tab) indicates whether the results transferred successfully?

No, the inspection lot doesn't have the status - CLAS -complete classification.

And in the batch values for the lot, the ‘value from inspection’ is updated and the status is =5.

the UD log does not indicate "the results transferred successfully" -

Result Recording was not done forcefully also.

Hi, Can you check if the issue is with characteristics value itself, for an example, value is out of range.? (Also explained in the note 2627115). You may be able to check this by trying to update the batch using MSC2N with the new characteristics value and by checking whether it is getting updated.

First of all thanks a lot for your continuous support and involvement in this.

The resolution, explained in the note 2627115, was already maintained for the characteristics - i.e., additional values check box ticked. 

Also, business tried to change the value via MSC2N, and it was allowing to change the same. Only issue is , it's not getting updated via Inspection Lot RR.

Thanks a lot for the help. We identified the issue as per mentioned in the note - 3169241.

" Enhancement QMSP0002 is active in the system.

Inside the enhancement (in function module EXIT_SAPLQMSP_002), parameter I_OVERWRITE is cleared by custom-logic. This prevents the transfer of the results to the batch classification.

Parameter I_OVERWRITE is also cleared in cases, when QMSP0002 is activated but it does not contain any coding. "

We deactivated this as it didn't contain any custom code and now it's getting overwritten. Thanks a lot for your guidance.
