Hi
In the ATP check for made to order products, the system would determine schedule lines in a future date based on expected inward movements ( based on check rule ) and propose the dates. If there is an improvement / delay in the inward movements, the system would not change the dates unless a re-scheduling program is executed.
Similarly, when a MTO is created, the first date that the system would indicate would be based on lead times in the material master. As the actual production work progresses, the expectation is that the orders get updated and provide a more real time information on expected date(s).
Both of these require re-scheduling to be executed, failing which the orders do not give the correct situation update(s) in the sales order. The standard re-scheduling program in SAP has traditionally not been efficient and most clients are forced to create a copy of the standard program to make it more efficient and / or provide additional selection(s).
Would appreciate comments / suggestions from forum members.
