Release strategy of PUR REQ

RG | 1 | checked | PUR_DOC_RL| REL PR Group

SD | 1 | unchecked | TEST_2 | PR release

This is wat previously was implemented.PUR_DOC_RL is for header release.TEST_2 is for Item release.

PUR_DOC_RL has 5 characteristics only.Now they are asking for 2 more extra characteristics.so now i created new class and new release group say for example.

Eg.

<PG> | <1> | <checked> | <PUR_DOC> | <Rel Extra>

PUR_DOC consists of 5+2 characteristics.

Now when i am saving i am getting the message as

Please check release classes (see long text) Message no. ME492

Hi Patil,

SAP considers RFQ / PO / Outline Agreement as Purchasing Documents. If you already created a class for release of any of these documents than you have to add your new characteristics to this class, this is why you are getting error. Which means you cannot create more than one class for Purchasing Documents.

The thing is that i am changing the characteristics of the present class but it is reflecting all the other purchase groups etc. in that group.so they want this to be triggered for only eg: Stores & SPared Dept .Is it possible to create a new group with new class without changing previous one.

No, it is not possible since you can only assign one release class for all purchasing documents. To do that you have to create new release strategies for those you want to restrict, rest does not change.

i was creating a new release strategy only with new release class and new release group.The new release class consists of all the old and new characteristics.So when i was doing that i am getting the message PLZ CHECK THE RELEASE CLASS (SEE LONG TEXT).
