Manage work center capacity for maintenance order

Dear,

When implementing SAP Asset Management S/4HANA Public Edition for a client, one of the requests is the following: being able to check the capacities available of a work center before assigning hours to an operation.

I know that there is the Work Center Utilization app via the license Resource Scheduling (43R) but we want to know if there is an equivalent to check the capacities without this license.

I have found a Production tile: Manage Work Center Capacity. I have defined, in My Area Of Responsibility, a work center group that I have created by including my maintenance work center in it.

The issue that I have is that I do not see the percentage of the utilization of my maintenance operations, yet I cannot see the work planned (see my pictures attached) > the utilization is empty for my work center RES-0100; Capacities are available in the header of my work center & my maintenance order operations are either ready to schedule or dispatched already.

Can you please help and let me know if there is a configuration missing or another alternative to check capacity planning without the Resource Scheduling app?

Thank you,

Dany R.

Hi Dany,

The "Manage Work Center Capacity" app is for a Production Engineer (PP) and as far as I am aware it can't bring in the Maintenance Work Centers (no amount of configuration will change that).

Do you have anyone on your project that is looking at Reporting/Analytics? You may need their help here, but If all you want to do is display Work Center capacity you might have an option there to look at the available CDS Views to see what is available for WC Capacities, then turn those into an Analytical Query, then create a tile for it and provision to the business. - it would then be a self-service style report.

That functionality is in the business role for Analytics Specialist, but it would be similar to this blog: https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-blogs-by-sap/how-to-create-analytical-quer...
