Addition to stock putaway strategy not working in WM

Hi

I have searched but not found a problem similar to mine.

Adding to existing stock is not working

Placement strategy 'I'

Mixed storage and Addn to stock both 'X'

Capacity Check is '3'

I have stock of part A1 already in storage type SL and bin SL01

Storage bin SL01 total capacity set to 999,999

Stock placement and Storage Section Indicator in MM are blank

Storage Type search for putaway 'E' starts with storage type 'AA', then 'BB' then CC' and finally 'SL'

When receipted in stock using MIGO the stock is added in to the first empty bin in storage type 'AA' and not added to the stock already in storage SL bin SL01.

I would expect the Storage type Search to work if I have no existing stock but not if I aleady have stock.

I just cannot get the 'Add to Existing Stock' strategy to work.

Please advise

So you are stating that Capacity Check Methods 1-3 cannot be used for Mixed storage?

SL01 does not contain any other material number and we do not use batches and we need to mix materials (quants) in the same storage bin due to the space limitation of our warehouse. We cannot have 1 material, 1 bin.

We are not maintaining capacity data in MMs

I would assume that if I have stock in a storage type and that it set to allow 'addition to existing' stock, then when I receipt the stock it just adds to it. If the bin cannot manage all of the stock we have allowed the changing of the destination bin upon putaway confirmation.

The Storage type Search does not appear to allow addition to stock for putaway (E). Any putaway is put in to the first storage type in the order. Show I leave the storage type search blank for putaways? (OMLY)

So the requirement is that we want to add to existing stock if it already exists. If not default in to a Goods Receipt' storage type (GIN - Goods In). That storage type is set to 'C' open storage to allow us to not worry about the number of materials that go in to there. We would then bin to bin the stocks to a real bin. Then on a new goods receipt for the materials just putaway using add to existing stock

Should I have a storage type in my Storage type search for putaway?
