new functionality in ehp7 for HCM

I am reading about the functionality in ehp7 and found this:

1. SAP Fiori in action

2. Faster MRP runs

3. Data aging: real-time access to ERP data

However I want know What are the functionality new for propose in HCM (ESS, MSS, ERecruiting) with this new ehp7

We have installed ESS&MSS with EHP7 but with the version of WDJava. BP 1.41. I have reading about HR-RENEVAL, but I want know the added value if we active HR-RENEVAL.?

Please check the above links With hr renewal there is no dependency on portal as such etc. You get new functionality as listed above and you also can leverage Fiori

Hi Carmen,

SAP is hugely investing in UX Improvements coupled with functionality focussing on UI5 optimized solutions, so there is lots happening in this world.

So, HR Renewal is one flavor like your Portal but with feature rich UI improvments.

We need to understand Future of EP, Flavor of NWBC, Focus on UI5 based  FIORI Apps which are optimized for Mobile Enterprise solutions.

So much exciting stuff to look on

1) Role-specific start pages:   Access Important action items, Frequently used applications/Services & option to set as Favorites.

2) Improved & Harmonized User Interface for maintaining HR Data:  


  • Retrieve & Maintain selected HR related objects from OM , PA Module data details for   eg: change   employee and organizational data attributes)
  • Combined data maintenance for single-step processes from OM , PA (e.g., hiring, transfer, promotion, organizational changes),
  • Mass data change activities (e.g., mass hire, mass change of job assigned to positions)
  • Smooth navigation pattern across PA and OM (Search, Structure)

3) User Productivity features - Ability to Save as Draft, Favorites, Recently used services, Time stamp for refreshed data

4) Analytics/Reporting Tools -   Ad hoc reporting, Embedded analytical content directly within applications

5) Additional interface for HCM P&F -   Leverages SAP Floor Plan Manager (FPM) to develop new WD ABAP forms
