LSMW -Measuring Point Lower limit set as zero

Former Member

Hi,

I am cretting measuring points through LSMW and while uploading the data i found that system is not updating the value of lower range limit in Additional data Tab.i have gone through suggestion given by experts to flag the Negative Vals Allowed in Characteristic basic data but our business persons are not ready for flagging field  Negative Vals Allowed as they do not want to allow any negative Value.

Is there any solution to create the measuring points with upper and lower limit without flagging  Negative Vals Allowed in characterisitc. Please note that business person has to create measuring points in huge numbers so we cannot suggest them to create manually with Transction Code IK01.

Thanks

As mentioned in other post, you can't upload lower limit unless that characteristics has marking as Negative Values acceptable.

Its not about LSMW or BDC, I think. Its about SAP.

it's right, it'll not take -ve value either by LSMW/BDC or Manually through IK01/02 unless the characteristic is not flagged against 'Negative Vals Allowed'.

Hi Parveen,

Business user do not want to enter any negative value while creation of Measuing point and they are giving positive value for lower range limit then also system is updating zero for lower limit range.

Hi Jagat

1. Create MPs first w/o taking UL & LL.

2. After getting Measuring Point No., upload again through another LSMW with MP no., UL & LL.

3. Excel snapshot is attached herewith for reference.

What field name have you given to this field in the LSMW

Also make sure the output file has the value - i.e the conversion worked OK.

Hi Pete,

Field name is MRMIC. Conversion is working O.k and system is displying the value of MRMIC in Display Converted Data but while uploading through batch input it is not updating.

If you are creating the Measurement Point in LSMW via BDC, then run the BDC in foreground mode. This may help determine the issue.

Are there any warning/error messages issued?

Hi

I run the LSMW in foregroung also but it is not updating lower range limit. i need to run the LSMW in backgound only as number of records are too high so executing the same in foreground will take too much time and monotonous task for the person who is uploading.
