Dear Community,

I am not completely clear on the difference between the usage of the infotype 0709 - Person ID and infotype 0031 Reference Personnel Numbers.

A few questions that are unclear for me:
1. ) Can you elaborate on when SAP intended to use one or the other?

2.) For which of both infotypes the object Central Person is created?

3.) Can both be used at the same time?

Thanks in advance for your relpy!

Best regards,

Janja

Infotype 0709 (Person ID) is used to store a unique identifier for a person in the SAP system. This can be an external ID (e.g. a social security number) or an internal ID (e.g. a company-generated employee number). It is typically used to link an employee to other records in the SAP system, such as those related to payroll, health insurance, and other benefits.

Infotype 0031 (Reference Personnel Numbers) is used to store additional numbers that are associated with an employee, such as an external ID, a company-generated ID, or any other number that is associated with the employee. This could include a union membership number, a passport number, or any other number that is related to the employee.

The object Central Person is created for both Infotypes 0709 and 0031. Both of these infotypes can be used at the same time in order to store multiple IDs or numbers associated with an employee.
