Hi,

Is it possible to host SAP S/4HANA Cloud Multi-Tenant Edition on a non-SAP Hyperscaler e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud?

I understand that the Single Tenant Edition as well as Private Edition can be hosted on a non-SAP hyperscaler, but not so sure about the Multi-tenant edition.

Thanks,
Lucy

Hi lucygray

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Multi-Tenant Edition which is now known as SAP S/4HANA Cloud essentials edition (ES) can not be hosted by a traditional hyperscaler(like AWS,Azure or GCP). This deployment option is hosted on SAP’s public cloud. All regular upgrades, security, and scalability are automatically handled by SAP.

Also, I am adding this blog, which provides an interesting comparison that could be useful in your jorney.

Hi Lucy,

According to my knowledge, some SAP S/4HANA Cloud Multi-Tenant Edition systems are hosted in Azure, AWS, but they are all SAP managed.

It should not be possible to host the systems in non-SAP managed environment.

Right Owen, just like HEC has someone behind them, what matters is that SAP is front office responsible. If something fails in the hyperscalers, the end customer has no responsibility or direct support from them. It is pure SaaS. 🙂
