Invoice always in Update mode when browsing

Hi,

When browsing, the Invoice form is always in Update mode.

This is usually due to using 'Refresh regularly' in the settings of a formatted search (2335958 - Troubleshooting - FMS Related Issues - SAP for Me). So I tried the following without success:

  • First I set all FMS settings from 'Refresh regularly' to 'Display Saved User-Defiend Values'
  • Finally I removed all FMSs completely.

My Questions are:

  1. Are there any other reasons, besides FMSs, for a form to open in Update mode when browsing?
  2. Could an FMS cause this behavior, even though the field it is in, is not visible?
  3. Is there a way to get a list of all FMSs on a form? Perhaps I overlooked one.

All help appreiciated.

Regards,

Johan

Hi johan.hakkesteegt,

Have you checked the CSHS table to get the FMS data?

Hi ankit.chauhan1,

Thank you, I have found this table, but I am having a little trouble interpreting it:

FormID is the form, ItemID determines the table. ColID determines the column/field the Formatted Search is in.

  • What is ItemID 39? The ColIDs U_ALV22 and U_ALV8 are in the rows table, and should have ItemID 38 to my understanding:

  • How can I find out the name of the system column when the ColID is an index of sorts, 163 for example?

Johan

Hi johan.hakkesteegt,

Item 38 is the Item type Matrix.

Item 39 is the Service type Matrix.

Thanks Lothar!

Here is the result (filtered by the A/R Invoice form):

When I compare these results to the System Information, for the first two records I cannot find Area/header 39, and for the third record I cannot find column 163.

The first two FMSs were on Area/header 38, but I had removed those already. This makes me wonder if, for some rhyme or reason, the FMS records in the CSHS table were not deleted, but got corrupted. I.e. 38 was changed to 39.

For the third record, column 163, I looked at the Row Details, and if I guessed this correctly, the Item number in the System information corresponds (mostly) to the value in the Column field:

You may wonder why I am showing number 162 in the screenshot? That is because I found something interesting: the number of the next field, Nature of Transaction, is (1000)164. I wonder if column/field 163 was removed, while it had a formatted search in it.

Summa sumarum, is this issue caused by some sort of database corruption? What do you think?

Johan

Hi Johan,

the switch from 38 to 39 is suspicious. Is thi happen to the query as well? I can see $39.22 there

The column field should be taken früm the Matrix itself not from the RowDetails. I tried it with itemcode. In the matrix(lines) it is 38 in the rowdetails it is 1000064 that seems not to fit.

Hi Lothar,

ankit.chauhan1 provided the answer to this mystery: 38 is for Items and 39 is for Service.

I checked, and the two FMS were still on the Service matrix side. Once I removed them as well the problem was solved.

Hi Lothar,

I think there was a snaffoo with the file, it is 0 kb, and appears to be empty.
