How to avoid duplication of Serial Number for any Material in SAP system.

I want to avoid duplication of serial number for any material in sap system.

I have created new serial number profile and set as serial number is synchronize with equipment.
so while doing GR with serial number for same number equipment is created as provide external number range.

The problem is we have different types of serial number logic, But in SAP where serial number logic is assigned there is only one logic,

how we can assign other logic kindly guide me ?

The KBA Different materials may have the same serial number in the system explains the logic of how Serial Numbers are assigned and why different Materials can have the same Serial Number assigned

If further changes to the logic are required the the BADI 'Internal Serial Number Assignment using Custom Business Objects' can be used Extensibility for Serial Number Creation

Unfortunately this is only for Internal Number Assignment and there is no BADI for External Number Assignment
