HCM Processes and Forms: Maintain Infotype Text

Hello Gurus,

I'm creating what should be a simple form for an awards program we have.  I would like to create a form that creates an IT0183 record for an employee who has been given an award.  The form would just contain information from their manager on why they deserve the award, which would be a free-form text box they could enter several lines explaining what the employee has done and why they deserve this award.

I have setup a field on the form I0183_INFO_TEXT which uses screen structure HCMT_BSP_PA_TEXT and the field name is TEXT with the data element PAD_LONG_TEXT.  Everything looks great on the form, I can enter free-form text.  And I've checked around on other discussion boards and this seems to be the correct way to set this field up.

But when I select the check button, it is removing everything after the 78th character.

If I submit the form it only updates the RP50M-TEXT1 field and nothing else. It only displays the first 72 characters which is the length of the TEXT1 field.  I still would expect to see the remaining 6 characters that didn't get truncated in the form to display in the TEXT2 box.

When viewing the F9 Text editor it displays the 78 characters from the form are there.    

Does anyone know of a way to take the text on the form and not truncate it and have it be applied to the Infotype Maintain text view?  Or have any idea how to approach this?  I'm very new to HCM P&F, so maybe I'm missing something that is obvious.  Any help would most be appreciated.

I saw your message just now on my blog...

I faced the same thing before. Let me look through my notes or see if it hits me. I remember it was something "odd" I had to do.

Thanks Christopher, any information you have would be great.  I've been banging my head against the wall on this one for a couple weeks.
