Foreign Currency Valuation - FAGL_FCV - Reset Valuation Posted without Valuation itself Posted

Hello all,

In Foreign Currency Valuation transaction "FAGL_FCV" the user executed it but by mistake had a check in "Reset Valuation".

There was no Valuation Posted before but the Reset Valuation was posted anyway.

Is this supposed to happen? To be able to Reset a Valuation that does not even exist?

Basically the postings were changed regarding signs (+ by - and vice versa).

Thank you

To have a better view on what I'm trying to describe.

The Reset Valuation happened before even a Valuation.

Those are all the Valuations done for this company.

How can we do a Reset even before a Valuation itself?

Hi Joao,

it may be worth trying to replicate the problem in a DEV environment. Depending on settings &/or cleared status of the item, a reset before valuation may reset the realized gain/loss posted as part of a clearing.

Maybe check if the values from BSEG-RDIFF were updated in FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY during the reset?

Or maybe debug FAGL_FC_VALUATION in a sandbox client to trace how FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY is (not) checked when using the 'reset'? 🙂

Here is a good explanation of the reset logic.

Depending on version, it may be worth checking some of the notes e.g. 1812246 2845233

Also; take a look in table FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY to see the status of the valuation & check which transactions were reset (was it just cleared open items?).

Thanks for the feedback.

I just added a new comment to my original question with an image.
