Does the app "Display Business Role Changes after Upgrade" work?
I've tried entering various text in the Business Role ID field, but I guess I'm doing something wrong because it is not returning any data for me.

Tried without a filter and works fine for me.
For the filter you can pick any role from Maintain Business role and see it that works.

No. I have an open ticket with support and they have replied, but I have not had time to focus on it and decipher what they have said.

It simply does not return data for me. I've run it without any filter, as well as with a Business Role in the Business Role ID fields, but either way it returns no data. I will reach out to SAP Support.

Hi,
To add further, only when there are changes done to Business Catalog and Restrictions for a
given Business Role, the app 'Display Business Role Changes after Upgrade' will generate
the result.
