dip+work status "STOPPED" ( No work processes)

Hi,

I am facing a serious problem, dispwork status going to stopped in few seconds after I start SAP, msg_server and igswd are running well. I have upgraded ECC60 EHP4 Kernel from level 14 to 69, then I faced sapcpe copy error and I solved it, then when I start it gave dispwork status as " running but no dialogue queue info available. I tried to solve but failed. then I restoed old backup kernel then SAP was UP successfully with no issues. Then again I tried with new kernel while trying I lost tree structure in MMC and I recreated it with sapstartsrv. Then I tried with latest dispwork files in new Kernel then it gave the dispwork status as "stopped". There started the problem from then even I restored the Old kernel it giving the same error status "STOPPED".

Please help me in solving this problem. I have been trying from a week.

Tasks I have Performed but couldnt solved the problem:

1. Restarted SAP and Server.

2. Tried with old kernel getting same error.

3. Tried with new kernel

4. Tried with new disp+work executables.

5. check the SQL Server which is running.

6. Checked the host file and services file to some extent I know.

7. r3trans -x giving 0000 but r3trans -d not giving any number just giving verison etc

8. Upgraded security patches to windows.

9. Checked profiles with sappfpar getting warning system/type =ABAP

10.Recreated Tree with sapstartsrv.exe

11.Tried copying at both places under sys\exe\uc\ntamd64 and dvebmgs\exe.

The first place to look if a system is no more coming up is

dev_disp

dev_w0

dev_ms

You may also look in the windows event log why the processes can't be started any more.

Hi All,

I tried uninstalling Service then created Service with my domain user (before used SAPServiceSID), This made some progress, now dispatcher is in yellow saying dispatcher started but dialogue info unavailable.

Now I can connect to SAP System and also able to see latest kernel level through SM51/ disp work and all work process in wait except one in SM50. The thing is in MMC the dispatcher is in yellow and no workprocess exist.

Please help me in solving MMC problem (dispatcher in yellow, dialogue info unavailable) and can I upgrade SPs with this system state?

Hi Markus,

I forgot to tell I have solved the sapcpe copy error by executing the redistributable file mentioned in the SNOTE, but that error got solved and dispatcher started dying. I am attaching dev_disp file below

Please post dev_w0 of such a start attempt.

That's typical to RAM allocation problems, try ti reduce some parameters like this one:

'em/initial_size_MB rounded up to 3072MB' to em/initial_size_MB = 512

and check processes, it can happend that not all old processes were killed, best way to restart system.

According to the logfile your instance name is AB1 but you try to connect to a database "UP4"?

Hi Markus,

I am sorry for that actually that I have replaced manually to AB1(instead of SID) in the post and later replaced back to actual SID UP4 but I think I replaced all leaving the first occurrence behind. Please forget AB1 there is no AB1its UP4.

Hi,

If you have changed any sap profile parameters, just try to restore the old version of the instance and startup profile.

from <drive>:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile

Try to start sap again...

Later you can search note for profile parameter recommedation as per your need and tune it...

Dispatcher is not getting enough memory to work...

yes Markus, I have applied the security patch you mentioned before itself when I faced sapcpe copy error. That solved sapcpe problem, but dispatcher is dieing later after some trials.
