Hi all,
We are trialling out SAP for a development project and have hit a bit of a problem following this guide in setting up an OData service.
We have set up an "installation" on me.sap.com and assigned a developer key to a user and deployed SAP using the Cloud Appliance Library (this is the appliance template I used "IDES EHP8 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 on SAP ASE, June 2021")
The problem is when I get to the step where I generate runtime objects I am asked for a developer key, this then says that the key I enter from https://me.sap.com/app/sscr is invalid. I presume this is because the installation number on SSCR doesn't relate to the actual deployment of SAP on CAL.
Is that correct and if so how do I link up these two components so that the developer key will work?
Many thanks!
Hello,
the CAL systems come with a generic installation number (and those are indeed not corrolated to any SAP 4 Me installation).
This generic numer is usually changed when you generate your own license key and apply it to the system (and then a generated DEV key should also be fitting).
Can you try this (assuming that you have a perpetual ECC license) ?
Also, it could help to first delete the temporary license key (in SLICENSE) and then apply your regular key.
Best, Joerg
