Hi everybody,
is there a way to maintain a customer specific value for the GTIN-code in SAP?
MARA-EAN11 does not give an option to link to a customer. Customer material info record does not have a seperate technical field for this.
Use case: customers request a customer specific GTIN on the labels. (Internal logistics processes should be kept in mind.) Setting up new materials for each case should be avoided.
I appreciate your thoughts on my question. Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is a 14 digit number which is used as an identifier for trade items developed by GS1. GTIN accommodates various EAN/UCC numbering structures and is used to uniquely identify a product worldwide.
I think it is not possible to create GTIN per customer wise.

Hi Lingaiah,
Thanks for your quick response. This would mean that we have to create a seperate material number for each customer product, right?
Based on this I wonder how we can handle configured products which use the configuration material number and do not get seperate IDs after finishing the configuration process. Do you know of handling GTIN numbers within a configuration?
... a bunch of questions ... Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Achim
