Create in mass Gl accounts

Dear community,

Happy New Year!

In my current project, we are using the standard YCOA, but considering that we have in scope 7 countries and considering the complexity of the business, there is the need of creating around 200 extra GL accounts. There is any way of uploading them?

Thank you,

Diana

Hi Diana,

Unfortunately no migration tool is provided and reason being G/L accounts are now part of config in S/4HC and thus you need to create the G/Ls manually in Q and then the changes can be transported to P.

Best,

Sandeep

Sounds like a good area for an Influence Opportunity?

Obviously in the real world, even if a client is using the standard YCOA chart of accounts, they will enhance it with additional accounts - so would be good to be able to mass load these.

Surely this would be very easy for SAP to deliver - given that there is a G/L account load included in the On Prem version of the migration cockpit?

I don't think it can work the same way as On-Prem .

Here we have a list of predelivered accounts that needs to be managed in parallel with additional customer created content.

You can't prevent the activation of the predelivered content and we have the renumbering tool to reuse or modify the intial activation data.

For a file upload, SAP needs to develop new tools that can check the new content during the migration and make the necessary adjustments to prevent overlaps or inconsistencies with the predelivered values or the values already created.

Each accounts needs to be flagged properly as customer or SAP content and all changes have to be made in a life cycle compliant way.

Hi Diana,

as Sandeep mentioned you have no other option but to use Manage G/L Account Master Data in Q.

Since a reference is mandatory in the creation but you can copy it to more than one account at a time you can try to break the list into groups based on account functionality and create multiple ones at a time using a single reference .

This will probably require manual rework and validations afterwards to be sure that the settings are correct for each new accounts both at CoA and company code level.
