This is very helpful just we have 2200 amount of depreciation w.r.t 3 shift factor which is depreciation for first-year ..suppose total useful life is 5 years what would be the depreciation amount for 2nd , 3rd year and so on ..

Hi Abdul

in addition to Ragini:

1) Link

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/CalculatingtheAssetShiftDepreciationAmount%28multipleshifts%29anddisplayingitina+Report

2) Moreover kindly check the following

a) If you are using multi-shift operations please see note 7015 (Display of multiple-shift operation/shutdown)

b) If you are using period weighting please see note 160093 (Period weighting and shutdown in depreciation calcu)

3) If you are using units of production methods please note that unit of production methods still depreciate assets during shutdown periods

Steps:

a) Define the appropriate time interval in the time-dependent data for the asset. This must be done before you turn on the shutdown indicator. If you have already checked the shutdown indicator, remove the indicator and save this change before setting the time interval. (Transaction AS02, time dependent data, new interval)

b) Set the shutdown indicator in the asset master record for this interval. (Transaction AS02, time dependent data, check shutdown indicator)

c) Use a depreciation key in the affected depreciation areas that has an internal calculation key defined to allow for shutdown. (Transaction AFAMA).

3) Example

Following parameters are important:

a) Shift factor

b) Variable depreciation portion

Ad a)

Master Data:

-> Time depended

-> Shift factor

Ad b)

AS02

-> select Asset

-> go to Deprec areas

-> double click on the relevant depr. area

Here you see: Variable depreciation portion

If you can not see the field, check the screen layout rule:

-> Environment

-> Screen layout

-> Depreciation areas

And how it is calculated?

Depreciation = fixe depreciation + (variable depreciation * shift factor)

Example:

Depreciation: 1000

variable percentage: 60%

shift factor 0: 400 + (0 * 60 * 1000/100) = 400 (only fix depreciation)

shift factor 1: 400 + (1 * 60 * 1000/100) = 1000

shift factor 2: 400 + (2 * 60 * 1000/100) = 1600

shift factor 3: 400 + (3 * 60 * 1000/100) = 2200

Hope this information is helpful.

Best regards

Hi,

Due to two shifts you would like to capture incressed depriciation.

For this you just need to specify the in custominzing (AFAMA) the crieteria for multiple shift for the dep key which is in use.

System will calculate increased depreciation due to increased wear and tear on assets during multiple shift use, on the basis of option selected by you.

Thanks
