CoA Configuration: Relevance of Delivered ID after Renumbering

Hi Experts,

I have a Question regarding the CoA configuration: Does the original delivered ID of the YCOA accounts stay relevant in any way after renumbering and successful conversion? For example, do I need to use the old delivered ID or the new mapped ID when making configuration changes in "Manage your solution"?

What about creating new G/L accounts? Do they only get one "new" account ID or does there have to be some kind of mapping to an orginal "delivered ID"?

Thank you!

Best regards
Niklas

Hi Niklas,

the original ID would be relevant in certain cases . For ex if you run into some problems and need the support teams to check the account settings it helps then to mention that your account was the intial SAP account X.. or Z.. but this is visible in the system anyway.

Once the values are updated you will see and use only the new value in the configuration but i would recommend to store this mapping file just in case you need to trace the initial account . This can help if the mapping is not correct , you made a mistake and use the account for a different purpose then the one intended .

If you create a new ID the system check and add it to the account list or renumber the default SAP ID if this is not already activated . This has no impact in the configuration apps where you will see the new account number only.

What matters is the reference used in the creation since the new account will take over the properties of the old one and sometimes it is impossible to change some of this values afterwards.

The main issue is how to keep customer content and customer adaptation intact and not mix them with the default SAP delivered content to avoid any adaptation to be lost during upgrades and other life cycle relevant procedures.

I hope this helps you .

Regards,

Lucian

Hi Niklas,

Couple of points for your query:

1. When you do mapping of Standard ID vs New (Custom) ID. All GL relevant Configurations are also updated automatically with New (Custom) GL.

2. System does keep information about Standard Vs New ID since it is required when SAP releases new features, functionality, new S4HC version or patches that SAP delivered time to time.

3. New G/L does not get have Old (Standard ID). So there is no point of having Standard ID vs New ID in case of New GL.

4. ID = GL Number

5. It is important that when you create a new GL (ID) and if it has to be posted via Sales process or purchase process etc, then only you need to update respective configuration (SSCUI).
