​BOM will not explode in PR / PO

Dear gurus, I have been experiencing no BOM explosion when creating PR / PO of Subcontracting, showing the message error number ME154 as well as ME115 when pushing Explode Bom button. Let me share the settings concerning Automatic Bom Explosion down there, please tell me possible lack of configurations. Though I found a workaround: filling Components manually, but I want the system suggest an inventory withdrawal.

If you are still on ERP, not on S/4HANA, production versions are not obligatory. However if you don't use them BOM selection process is more complex. Also production versions are obligatory on S/4HANA. Therefore I'd suggest to use them.

Hmm, it is quite unfortunate that I lack knowledge in the usage of Product Version and BOM selection method. But anyway thank you for your quick help!

I supposed the problem might be with BOM validity date. PO release date needs to be within BOM validity dates. See note 2952438 - Error ME154 happens when creating purchase order for subcontracting item category on how PO release date is calculated.

Thank you for your quick and informative answers, I am wondering if I need to set Production Version at Material Master in order to go away with this problem, as I do not have alternative BOMs at all.
