backorder processing of sales order quantity-delivery created

Hi,

We have a requirement where we get orders from customer and we schedule the order quantity using VL10E for planning transportation.

But at times we recieve the order of the same material and decide to ship the material to the second order.

Ex:- SO no 1 MAT1-QTY -50MT

        2 delivery created for say     DEL1 -25MT & DEL2 - 25MT and no picking or PGI done

Now SO no 2 MAT 1-QTY - 50 MT

we want to dispatch the SO2 now.

We are using availbility check 02 and we have also maiantained BO/02 for back order processing.

The system allows to do Backorder processing if the delivery documents are deleted or rejected..

But as a whole our Sales order would have higher order quanity and accordingly mutiple delivery scheduled against it.If we use the above process over a period of time we would loose on the number range of the delivery document

1. We dont know if the above said process is correct

2. Is there a alternative solution for the above scenario

This is just a business process issue.  And anyway why would you want to process SO2, it may have a requested delivery date in the future.  You could if you wanted have a day in the week that you process the deliveries and do the picking and then you could possibly use V_V2 or CO06 to adjust the backorder situation.
