Asset Mid Year Migration in S/4 HANA 2020 Version

Hi Experts,

We are planning to migrate Fixed asset balances from ECC to S/4 HANA 2020 version with mid year conversion approach. I understand that we need to load the PY APC, PY Acc. Dep & Current year transactions & Current year Ord. depreciation as part of the migration. In our legacy system we have various types of current year transactions posted as mentioned below & I would like to understand on how to migrate some of the below current year transactions from ECC to S/4.

1. CY Acquisition - Can be migrated with asset Ttype 100 on AB01
2. CY Transfers - How to migrate these? What is the asset TType to be used?
3. CY Retirements - How to migrate these? What is the asset TType to be used?
4. CY Ordinary Depreciation - Can be loaded on ABLDT
5. CY Unplanned depreciation - Can be loaded on ABLDT
6. CY Revaluation - Can be loaded on ABLDT

Are you doing a greenfield or brownfield migration?

If you are doing brownfield, the SAP Finance migration programs handle this for you as part of the S/4HANA conversion process and you do not need to worry about questions 1-6 (in my experience)

Hi Tammy,

We are doing a re-implementation (greenfield). Thus, we need to extract & load the asset balances & transactions in S/4.
