S/4 Hana Conversion with Integration to SAP Cloud for Customer

Dear all,

the blog from Bernd: S/4HANA Conversion with Integration to SAP Cloud for Customer Experiences from SAP internal Validation Project" could not answer my question if I only have to change the standard iflows in CPI for Business Partner Replication (plus Relationship), Material and Customer Hierarchy from the ECC standard CPI package: SAP Cloud for Customer Integration with SAP ERP to the package SAP Cloud for Customer Integration with SAP S/4HANA since their messages are in S4 send via SOAP/Web Service or if I have to change the iflows based on IDOC's for the other integration content like e.g. sales orders and quotes too?

Hi Tanja,

you should exchange all ERP iflows with the corresponding S/4 ones. This is because we have done some updates to S/4 iflows only (e.g. account hierarchy iflow is now extensible although the underlying IDOC did not change).

Please note that only business partner (relationship) and material replication (and attachments) happen via SOAP, the other replications are still based on IDOC as you mention. But in some cases we are using a different/updated IDOC message type (e.g. for order replication). That is why all iflows should be adjusted and the corresponding integration artifacts re-generated in S/4 via the integration configuration report.
