Deleted customergroup - Guest checkout does not work

I accidentally deleted Usergroup customergroup in HMC. I have since added it back and all the necessary restrictions and personalizations. I checked everything from HMC tools Last Changes where you can see the actions made because of my deletion and reversed those. Everything else works fine, but guest checkout: At checkout user is created in format GUID|EMAIL but is not added to User group customergroup so checkout is halted cause product prices cant be unambigiously defined. Prior to deletion User Group was added automatically.

Any idea what I'm missing?

One reason can be that the user, anonymous might have been disconnected from customergroup. Please check it and add it back to customergroup if it is not so.

User anonymous has been added to the customergroup. Without this, user which has not logged in could not view products cause all products have more than one pricelist that is decided with User Group which user belongs to.

Do you have any other ideas?

One thing I would try to do is a full Platform Update, including Essential Data. You have nothing to lose.

Running update with essential data fixed it. Thank you everyone for your helpful answers

Did you restart hybris after re-creating it? I feel there would be all sorts of cache or memory mechanisms that would break if you deleted a group and re-added it like that.

Tried the restart, no help. Still user is not added to the customergroup
