Can we filter the BPs proposed for a custom party role?

Hello everyone,

I have recently created a new party role and made it available on the involved parties of opportunities.

However, when I create an opportunity and want to add an account with the new party role, the system proposes all the existing BPs in the system (accounts, contacts, employees etc.).

Would it be possible to limit this proposal to only accounts? Or even better, would it be possible to limit them to accounts with a specific indicator?

Thank you very much for your feedback,

Sincerely,

Vivian

Unfortunately there is not capability in the system to default or choose a saved query based on any logic using adaptation. You could try custom sdk code.

Without custom code, the only possible way is to set the most commonly used saved query to default and for the other role, we'll have to train the users to pick the appropriate saved query.

Bonjour julius.pereira25,

Thank you for your feedback!

This is indeed a good step forward in my application but there is still a point of blockage.

Let's imagine the following situation:

I create an opportunity, I go to the involved parts, I click on add and I select my role (the custom one), with the method you explained I can indeed directly land on the accounts I want to display (for example the customer & prospect accounts with a special active indicator).

However, this is blocking if I select another role, ship-to for example, or I would like the proposed query in the popin displayed on selection to be Related To.

Is it possible to automate the proposed query according to the role selected previously?

Thanks a lot,

Vivian

Hello Vivian,

Here is my understanding of your requirement.

You create an opportunity and save it. Then you go to edit it and go to the Involved parties facet and click the Add button. Then you select your new role from the Role dropdown field and then click the search help in the name field and now you see all business partners.

If this is correct, then what you could do is after clicking the search help in the name field, click the advanced filter and create a new custom saved query of your choice (your new role, and any other fields that you would like to use to limit the accounts. And set it to default. See screenshot below.

When you save this query as a default, the next time you click the search help in the name field, the system will fire your custom saved query and return the results based on the custom saved query that you have created.

If however, I have not understood your requirement, then please can you elaborate with steps and screenshots and the community will try to help.
