Can a published Landing Page be found on Google?

When you publish a landing page from SAP Marketing Cloud,

either with or without content repository / CDN set up,

can this published page then be found on Google?

Well, the whole point is that the Landing pages from SAP Marketing Cloud apparently do not have a functionality to add "proper meta tags" to it. So technically they "can" be found on google, as Andreas indicated, but practically you won't find them unless you search for litteral phrases from the page.

Hello vervinckt.joyca,

Long time, I hope you're well 🙂

Based on my experience, the answer is NO; the LP urls are not found in Google searches.

  • If your query was different than what I understood, feel free to add a comment.
  • Can you also share why you need the URL to be found by google search, what's usecase?

I hope this information helped close this thread.

Thanks and Regards,

Kunal Bansal, SAP CX Architect

Thanks Kunal, you understood my question perfectly 🙂

Use case is marketing creating landing pages without involving the Website team, because marketing landing pages are very quick and easy to create. But if it concerns just informational pages (so without a form) it would be nice if they can be found on Google searches.

That's a really nice use-case to use LP as an Informational Page, but the neither URL nor the texts in the LP are google search engine detected!
Maybe, this can be submitted as an idea to SAP, though not sure if SAP will accept such usage of LP 😉

bansal.kunal: actually andreasfranz presented in a webinar 1 week ago about B2B enhancements, around 27:00 as a Tip that landing pages can actually also be used as microsites to just provide content, without a form. So this kind of usage should be accepted 🙂

However if they cannot be found on Google search, it's not "really" a microsite imo.

It came up in my current project where the marketing tool that they currently use, does have a landing page builder that publishes the pages in a way that they can be indexed by Google.

Hi Joyca,

the Landing Pages are not blocked from indexing. So in theory google technically be able to index those pages.

However: they are also not SEO optimized.

best regards

Thanks for your reply Andreas. I just tried searching for a landing page that has been published for at least a year or two, with some text that appears on it between quotes, but I cannot find it via google... Is that part of SEO optimization then?

If I google the url part that all landing pages have:

https://www.google.com/search?q=smc-lp.s4hana.ondemand.com

I do indeed find a couple of landing pages back via Google.
