Hello Friends,
I found a good video in which Data mining innovator Shyam Sankar explains why solving big problems (like catching terrorists or identifying huge hidden trends) is not a question of finding the right algorithm, but rather the right symbiotic relationship between computation and human creativity.
While artificial intelligence (AI) is the dominant paradigm, he is an advocate of JCR Licklider's "intelligence augmentation" (IA) approach, where algorithms and brains work together to solve problems.According to Intelligence Augmentation approach a right kind of co-operation between man and machine enables in making human more capable of making efficient decisions, controlling complex situations without the inflexible dependence on predetermined programs.
According to him in order to improve this co operation, instead of thinking about what a computer will do to solve the problem, design the solution around what the human will do as well.
Please follow below link for the video and other details.
Hope this would be helpful,
Regards,
Pratik

Thanks for sharing this video Pratik. I especially like the focus on computers making us more capable as opposed. Especially how we work to create a product based on how a human will work with the computer not simply how the computer will work.
