Hi lokanadha,
1. The Request + Task concept
enables multi user to work on same development/configuration.
2. In one request, there can be multiple task.
3. When we create a request,
one task automatically gets created.
4. suppose somebody works on the same development,
then he/she can assign to that same request,
but another Task will get created in that user name,
and his/her objects will be under that task.

Hi,
They are actually Transport Request and Transport Task.
Every Development object that you create must be assigned to a Transport Request(If the object is not in customer name space), and for each developer the project lead generally creates a Task under a Transport Request which will be owned by him.
Once everyone is done with their development, they will release their tasks, then the project lead will release the Request to the Quality system.

Sesh

Hi again,
1. For transporting purpose,
2. The tasks (which are under the request),
have to be first released (thru se09 tcode),
then after that, the request has to be released (thru again se09 tocde)
3. Then we JUST NEED TO GIVE the
REQUEST NUMBER ONLY,
to basis team, for transportation purpose.
(All the objects, which lie inside the various task(s),
will get transported)

amit m.

Hi,
While creating the object itslef you will be asked for a transport request.
So you can select a transport request in which you have Task.

When ever you create a new object, you can either save the object as a local object or you can transport it.
If you want to transport it you need to create a task request/ transport request to transport the object...
GOTO SE80 to create a new request and then you can use that request for your objects.
Click the button EDIT OBJECT and in that click the TAB Development Coordination and create your own

Hi,
A request contains multiple tasks. A task contains multiple objects. If more than one developer wants to work with the same object then we can create tasks. We can see this in detail in SE10.
Reward points if useful.

hi,
go to SE09 ,there u can find ur request and task.first release the task by pressing on lorry button on application tool bar and then release the request by presssing on same button.however it depends in some cases u can directly transport ur request to other system and in some cases u need to relaese the task and then the basis people will release the request...
Reward points if u find useful
