Table to store serial no. of stock register

Hi,

I want to store the serial nos. of stock register.

Stock register contains GR, Issue, Purchase Return details of a particular material.

Each material should have its serial no. starting from 1.

I want to save the serial nos of that material.

So that next month starting serial no will be generated based on previous months ending serial no.

I have 75 such materials.

So I assume my table should contain 75 fields, is there any other way to solve the problem.
