Table Maintenance Generator - Generation Errors

Former Member

Hi,

The following is a description of the problem that I am having with the Table Maintenance Generator:

1. The table is a custom (z) table, with 122 fields. 16 of them are key fields.
2. It doesn't affect the outcome, if fields are linked to either Data elements, Data types or a mix of both (tested each situation.)
3. The Maintenance generator properties are One-Step, since Two-Step will not be suitable for the end user (under strict guidelines.)
4. The Following is a screen capture of what the error log looks like after trying to generate the Table Maintenance:

5. When trying to maintain the table in SM30, a dump is generated & I receive the following message: "Screen <Screen_name>" 0001 contains a syntax error."

What can be done to fix these problems?
Any & all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Warmest Regards,
Hi John,

It might be because of so many fields in the table...

Will your user maintain all the 122 fields in the table.. ??

Check with your user on all the IMPORTANT fields which he is going to maintain using SM30. I am sure he will not maintain all the 122 fields.

Once you list down all the important and REQUIRED fields, then create a Maintenace View and ur problem is solved.

try this..

reward points if helpful.

I will try that, though my current functional spec has made the request quite clear.

If possible, please offer a technical solution as well.
