Report ALV not visible when transaction published to portal

Hello,

My ABAP report has been completed and works well in SAP GUI. We have published this to our portal for the users to easily access. When this happens, the ALV button menu (standard, with the export to excel option in particular), is not visible. The users get the "Local File" button, however, this is not the same easy functionality as the ALV button.

Has anyone been able to get the ALV button menu to work in the portal?

The missing button requires some GUI (SAP GUI for windows/java) functionalities to perform, so isn't available on portal (SAP GUI for html, WD) and is replaced with the local file functions.

There are some reference OSS notes/KBA such as 314568 - SAP GUI for HTML functionality / Limitations / Sp. Behaviour to read.
